Home Run Hounds

WHY NOT ADOPT FROM HOME RUN HOUNDS?

Racing greyhounds can retire from the sport at any age and for a variety of reasons, but when they do, the one thing they have in common is looking for their forever sofa in their forever home. Here at Monmore Green, we look after our greyhounds very well during their sporting career and in their retirement.

One of our associated rehoming centres are Home Run Rounds, who provide a home to our retired racers to ensure they are happy and healthy.

Joey (Bangon The Clock)

Joey (Bangon The Clock)

Gender: Male

Colour: Black

Child Friendly: Still being assessed

Vaccinated: Yes

Newly retired, Joey is busily soaking up all the excitement the big wide world has to offer - enjoying trips to several local parks and walks with different volunteers - where he's met lots of people and other breeds of dogs. Initially excited, he soon settles into a steady walk. Joey walks beautifully on the lead, by your side. Socialisation is going well and he is initially curious about smaller breeds, but is getting more & more used to them. He also embraces other external noises (children, bicycles, ducks etc...although we think he was more interested in the breadcrumbs than the ducks!)

PADDY (CATCHEM PADDY)

PADDY (CATCHEM PADDY)

Gender: Male

Colour: Black and White

Child Friendly: Probably best with older children

Vaccinated: Yes

New to our Wombourne kennels is 3 year old Paddy (Catchem Paddy). He is a true gentle giant, with his shiny black coat and white markings. Paddy can be a little unsure when he first meets you, but once he gets to know you, he is the most affectionate and loving boy. His first few offsite experiences have seen him being a little cautious around traffic & loud noises, but we know that with more experience, these will no longer bother him. Due to his size, he would probably be better suited to a family where there are no very young children. He is aware of other breeds on his walks (where he is very relaxed on his lead), but makes no bother about them. Currently sharing his kennel with a female, Paddy would make an excellent 2nd dog, but would be equally happy just being an only dog. A beautiful calm & gentle soul, we're sure he won't be waiting long.
